Why Do People Use Twitter?
For some people Twitter is for getting info, news and socializing.For many others Twitter is for following celebrities; and because you get so many adds you’d think that for most Twitter is just for advertising.
But do you really know why do people use Twitter?
According to a little research that my friend Charles Montgomery found the data is as follows:
- 20% use Twitter for news and info
- 24% use Twitter for social networking and comunications
- 22% use Twitter for following celebrities
- 16% use Twitter for social advertising and blog links
- 11% use Twitter for curiosity
- 07% use Twitter because they’re bored at work
Surprisingly enough only 16% of the millions that use Twitter are advertising and I’d even venture to say that only 2-3% of those actually have a well-established marketing plan.
